Kathmandu. The Thirteenth International Folk Cultural Fair 2082, organized by Everest Nepal Cultural Group with the main slogan "Nepali Folk Cultural Base Welcoming Tourist Artists," has been successfully concluded. The fair was held from Chaitra 5th to 14th.
The program was inaugurated in Kathmandu, while cultural programs were organized in various schools, including Panchkhal, Pokhara, Budhanilkantha, Basantapur, and the Patan Durbar area. Countries including Botswana, Estonia, Germany, India, Taipei, South Africa, Israel, Nepal, etc., participated in the fair. The organizers have stated that some countries could not participate due to international circumstances.
According to the organizers, this fair, which has been held every two years since 2002, featured performances by artists from different countries reflecting their original folk culture. The program was watched live by more than 500,000 viewers from across the country, while there was also significant audience participation via television, YouTube, and Facebook, said RC Koirala "Ramchandra," founding chairman of Everest Nepal Cultural Group.
The organizers say that such programs have made a significant contribution to promoting cultural tourism in Nepal. However, the organizers have expressed regret over not receiving the expected support from the concerned government agencies.
Local levels and various organizations, including Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Budhanilkantha Municipality, Lalitpur Metropolitan City, and Panchkhal Municipality, provided significant support to make the program a success.
