The joy of Paddy Day in Gokarneshwor: Artists resonate in Asare Bhaka, Rayamajhi and Joshi honored

Kathmandu. Gokarneshwar Municipality Ward No. 7, Busy artists came to Shiv Chowk to celebrate Paddy Day. Artists had gathered to celebrate the 'National Paddy Day and Planting Festival' organized by the National Public Media Nepal and Indreni Cultural Society. The 'National Paddy Day and Planting Festival' was celebrated in the presence of locals under the chairmanship of Chandramani Gautam, President of Public Media Nepal, and the chief guest of Gokarneshwor Municipality, Deepak Kumar Risal.

Cultural honors were also given to renowned singer, musician and director Narayan Rayamajhi and renowned singer Shiv Narayan Joshi. The 'National Paddy Day and Planting Festival' was celebrated by planting paddy in the fields in the presence of famous singers Manju Poudel, Badri Pangeni, Navin Poudel, Saroj Lamichhane, Sanju Neupane, Ayusha Gautam, Ravi Karki, actress Aliza Gautam and others.

Asar 15 is an important day for farmers. Asar is considered the month of planting and growing rice. This day is considered to be the day of planting in the field with tools, playing with mud and eating curd. In the event, the artists gave a musical performance while planting the fields and eating curds. At the beginning of the program, the program was inaugurated by worshiping the rice seeds with the Panchebaja instrument.

National Media Workers Nepal had celebrated Paddy Day in Uttarganga of Gokarneshwor Municipality last year as well. Although Nepal is said to be an agricultural country, recently it has been limited to books only. That's why the annual planting festival is being celebrated to convey the message that the country should be self-sufficient in agriculture, said Chandramani Gautam, president of Nepal's Public Communication Committee.
