The best five plays were selected in the online drama competition

Kathmandu. Five plays have been selected for the file of 'Online Single Play Competition 2077.78' organized by Cultural Institute. Nirmal Subedi's 'Unfinished Desire', Ramik Thakuri's 'Gothko Chia', Sushmita Shrestha's 'Ba. Ra. C', Lakshmi Pandey's '15 Days' and Nishan Khatri's 'Aru Phulyo'.

According to the institute, the competition was organized to search for talented artists from the country and abroad with the concept of 'stage at home'. Among the plays participating in the competition, 11 were selected in the first stage. Those 11 plays were placed on the YouTube channel of the Cultural Institute and other online portals. According to Ashok Pyasi Rai, the general manager of the institute, the best 5 dramas out of 11 were selected based on the scores given by the judges and the most likes and shares from the audience.

The best 5 plays will be selected as winners during a special program on July 22 through a live performance on the stage of the Cultural Institute in a theatrical environment. Prizes of 1 lakh, 50,000 and 25,000 rupees will be awarded to the first, second and third placed plays respectively and consolation prizes of 15, 15,000 rupees will be given to two people. "The online solo drama competition has been organized to provide a national stage and opportunity to the talents who are looking for a future in the theater sector," said general manager Rai.

In this competition, where you can use Nepali or your mother tongue, there is a provision that things like attacking the sovereign integrity of the country, disrupting social and religious harmony, dehumanizing some person or community, making negative comments towards friendly countries, reflecting political parties or ideas are not acceptable.
