Shambhujeet Baskota wins lifetime award, Shiva and Samikshya win best singer at 16th Bindhyabasini Music Awards

Kathmandu. Sangeet Ratna Shambhujeet Baskota has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Bindhyabasini Music Awards 2082. The King of Music, Sangeet Ratna Baskota, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award with a cash prize of Rs. 101,000, a certificate, trophy, dosalla and garland. 

Popular singer Shiva Pariyar and popular singer Samikshya Adhikari were declared the best modern singer at the 16th Bindhyabasini Music Awards. Singer Pariyar won the award for the song Pareli, while singer Adhikari won the award for the song Ke Hereko Tulutulu. They were presented with a trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 5,000.

At the 16th Bindhyabasini Music Awards, organized in 11 different categories, journalist Pawan Acharya was presented with a cash award of Rs 25,000 from the Art Journalism Award. Similarly, singer Rachana Rimal was presented with a cash award of Rs 25,000 from the Prem Dhawaj Sangeet Ratna Award.

Similarly, lyricist Bijay Shiwakoti was presented with the Bindhyabasini Sangeet Sadhana Samman along with a cash prize of Rs 50,000. Similarly, popular singer Pashupati Sharma was presented with the Jhalakman Lok Sangeet Samman along with a cash prize of Rs 25,000.

At the 16th Bindhyabasini Music Awards, Jyoti Magar won the Best Folk Singer award while Arjun Sapkota won the Best Folk Singer award. Singer Magar won the award for the song 'Jhayappai' while singer Sapkota won the award for the song 'Jhaliko'.

Bhupendra Budhathoki won the award for Best Lyrics. Lyricist Budhathoki also won the Public Choice Award, which is awarded based on the highest number of votes, and won awards in two categories. Shiva Hamal won the award for Best Music Composition for the song Mirmirema Basseko Bhale.

Similarly, Deepak Bista won the Best Video Editing award for the song Bainshale Jurukkai Paryo, while Buddha Thapa won the Best Cinematography award for the song Ya Aama Jam Bhanyo Malai. Geeta Dhungana and Prabhatpal Thakuri won the Best Music Video Model award for the song Kata Hinyu Saila. Similarly, Ritu Bohara won the Best New Singer award for the song Paisa Jogauna.

Welcoming the program, the award chairperson, Leena Sharma Regmi, said that the Bindhyabasini Award has always been active and committed to honoring creative artists. She said that the honor and award program has been modified and awards have been given in 11 categories, reducing the number of categories compared to the awards held in previous years.

On the occasion of the award program, a certificate of membership was handed over to singer Laxmi Acharya, a lifetime member of the Bindhyabasini Foundation. At the program, songs were performed by Samikshya Adhikari, Suman Kumar Shrestha, Ajar Jangam, Pashupati Sharma, and Rachana Rimal, while dance performances were performed by Geeta Dhungana, Babin Singh Thakuri, Kavita Neupane, and Alina Rayamajhi on behalf of Guruama Films.
