Kathmandu. The film 'Sati Devi' is being screened in Virginia, USA, on Saturday, August 16. Organizer Pushkar Pant has informed that a special show of 'Sati Devi' is being held in honor of women on the occasion of Teej, the great festival of women.

Despite living in America for a long time, Pushkar Pant, who is equally active in Nepali film production, artistry and social service, said that they are going to hold a special show because it is a famous film that has won many awards including national awards. We have heard a lot about 'Sati Devi' and have decided to hold a special show as a recognition that such original and family films should be made and watched by more and more people,' he said, 'No matter where we are, everyone must take some initiative on their part to preserve Nepali art, culture, originality and identity. We are going to do a famous film show under it.’ Pant, the producer of the hit film ‘Thuli’ directed by Everest Surya Bohara, says that he is very eager to watch ‘Sati Devi’.

The female-centric film ‘Sati Devi’, which won the Special Film Award at the National Film Awards-080 organized by the Film Development Board, has won a dozen best awards including the national one so far. The film, written, produced and directed by Laxman Subedi, features Malika Mahat, Ramesh Budhathoki, Sandeep Babu Lohani, Kul Bahadur Adhikari, Srijana Adhikari, child artist Harshika Wali and Manjila Baniya among others. The film, presented by Dilasa Creation in collaboration with Golden State Movie Makers LLC California, is produced by Dilasa, Sara, Sridevi and Bishal Subedi. Director Subedi has informed that after Virginia, ‘Sati Devi’ will also have a special show in other states.
