Navjot Sidhu convicted in incident 34 years ago, sentenced to one year in jail

Former Punjab Congress president, comedian and cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu has been sentenced to one year in jail by a high court in India in a 34-year-old road accident case.

Sidhu, who lost the election this year, has been dealt another blow by the court decision. An old man was killed by Sidhu's attack.

The court has also reviewed the verdict of four years ago. He was released on Rs 1,000 bail.

According to Indian media, Sidhu will be arrested today. The High Court has not offered any relief in the case of Sidhu's surrender and arrest.

According to the court order, Sidhu will have to go to jail today. Preparations are underway to send him to Patiala Jail. Some time ago, he even visited his house in Patiala.
