Jackie Chan's film 'New Police Story 2' will be released next year

Kathmandu. Last Tuesday Filmmart Market presented the world famous martial arts actor Jackie Chan, where he officially announced his upcoming film 'New Police Story 2'. Chan himself will be producing the film himself.

For this, he is collaborating with Hong Kong actor, martial artist, singer, songwriter, popstar and heartthrob Nicholas Tse. Tse is making his directorial debut with this film. As the title of the film suggests, this film is a new series of the popular 1980s film 'Police Story' starring Chan.

The film portrays Chan as a Hong Kong policeman fighting drug lords and corruption. The films 'Police Story' (1985) and Police Story 2 (1987) produced under the Golden Harvest banner are considered to be two of the most successful and popular films of Chan's career. It featured some of Chan's best and most detailed action scenes.

Chan will also play the role of a character who fights against drug mafia and corruption in the upcoming series. Chan and recently Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh worked together in the 1992 film 'Supercup'.

Expressing his excitement about doing the sequel of Police Story again, actor Chan shared how this series brought him stardom and achieved global success. The new police story is considered as a sequel to the original film. The new Police Story bears little relation to the original franchise, focusing more on action and less on the comedic elements of the original series.

Actor Chan is currently busy with Vanegard, Wis Dragon, Good Night Beijing and All You Need is Love. In 2023, Chan has three films in the pipeline. According to Hong Kong media, New Police Story 2 is preparing to be released in 2024.
