'Halee' Teaser Unveiled, Highlights the Fight Against Chhaupadi

Kathmandu: The teaser of the upcoming Nepali film 'Halee' has been officially released, offering a powerful glimpse into the harmful tradition of Chhaupadi and the social discrimination faced by menstruating women.

The teaser portrays the story of a young girl forced to stay in a cowshed during her menstrual cycle, reflecting the deep-rooted belief that she should not see or interact with family members, including her father. It also introduces an educated young man who challenges these outdated customs by taking legal action against society, setting the stage for a socially driven drama.

Written and directed by Om Pratik, Halee is scheduled to hit theatres on August 7 (Shrawan 22). The film features performances by Om Pratik, Saroj Khanal, Pramod Deep, Aruna Karki, Arjun Gurung, Bidya Karki, Nabin Shrestha, Kanchan Dulal, Kamal Gaule, and Bishal Pahadi.

Produced jointly by Japura Films Production and Shubha Chirayu Films, the film is backed by producers Pooja Gurung and Jasmine Shrestha.

Earlier, the film's promotional song attracted attention with special appearances by Deepashree Niraula, Kiran KC, Dilip Rayamajhi, Priyanka Karki, and Pooja Sharma.

The film's executive producer is Arjun Bhusal, with Namrata Bhandari serving as co-producer and Jeevan Nath Gautam as the chief assistant director.
