Kathmandu: The trailer of the upcoming Nepali film "Gaunthali" has been officially released ahead of its theatrical premiere on July 17 (1 Shrawan).
The three-minute, 20-second trailer introduces a socially driven family drama that delivers a strong message advocating girls' education instead of child marriage.
The story follows a teenage girl, played by Simran Khadka, who dreams of continuing her education. However, family pressure forces her into an early marriage, leading to emotional and life-changing challenges. The trailer portrays her struggle to pursue her aspirations despite societal expectations.
Actor Arun Chhetri plays the role of a young man with autism, adding another emotional dimension to the film.
Directed by Kapil Rijal, the film also features performances by Madan Krishna Shrestha, Prakash Ghimire, Lunibha Tuladhar, Rabindra Jha, Ishwori Baral, Sanjog Rasaili, Sita Devi Timilsina, Laxminath Timilsina, and Rajendra Nepali.
Produced under the banners of Bhola Rijal Production and Suman Giri Production, the film has Sarala Rijal as executive producer, while Suman Giri and Kapil Rijal serve as producers. The co-producers include Indu Giri, Manish Rijal, Pralaya Rijal, and Jeevan Oli.
