‘Gaunthali’ Premier Receives Praise for Storyline and Performances

Kathmandu – The upcoming Nepali film “Gaunthali” held its premiere in Kathmandu on Monday evening, where it received positive feedback from audiences for its compelling storyline and strong performances.

Producer Suman Giri said the film portrays the hardships and social challenges faced by women in rural Nepal before 2003 (2060 B.S.), presenting a touching and realistic narrative. Viewers at the premiere appreciated the film’s emotional depth and meaningful storytelling.

The performances of Arun Chhetri and Simran Khadka were particularly praised. Chhetri plays the role of a person with autism, and his performance was widely appreciated by the audience.

The premiere was attended by actors Krishna Malla, Rabi Dangol, Jitu Nepal, and other members of the film industry. They described the film as a heartfelt portrayal of Nepalese society during that period.

Directed by Kapil Rijal, who also co-produced the film with Suman Giri, “Gaunthali” is scheduled for nationwide release on July 17, 2026 (Shrawan 1, 2083 B.S.).
