Kathmandu. The shooting of the film 'Junkiri', which is going to be made on the story of Ghantuko of the Gurung community, is going on in full swing. The film, which is going to be produced by Dip Films Production Group, has started filming on Ashwin 15th.
This movie, which will be shot in Kathmandu before Dashain, will reach Khola Arubot in Gorkha and shoot about Ghatu. Similarly, the shooting will be done in beautiful places such as Bhachhek, Sirandanda, Nimki, and Siranchok in Gorkha.
Actor Suraj Tamu and actress Laxmi Gurung are playing the lead roles in the film. Suraj has acted in films like 'Unako Sweetar, Gorkha Warrior, Angela, Sarangaga, and Naina.' Suraj, who has been active in theater for a decade, has acted in two dozen plays and directed dramas, including 'School, Chalise Bhir'.
This is Laxmi's second film. Earlier, she acted in the lead role in the film 'Naina' and has worked in many music videos. Along with Suraj and Laxmi, Maotse Gurung, Anil Subba, Kabita Ale, Suman Bairagi, Pratina Rai, Praveen Magar, Sushmita Gurung, Maya Gurung, Samarpan Shree, and Saujan Senhyang will also be acting in the film.
This is the second film of director Dip Gurung. He had previously directed the film 'Naina'. He has directed dozens of music videos. The film will focus on the story of the journey and experience of a struggling photojournalist in Kathmandu.
The production team believes that the events that happen and the relationships that are found while taking pictures of Ghantu, which has already been dancing on the Gurungs, will make the story interesting.
"Just as Junkiri struggled with light in a dark night, Ghatu is also struggling in the same way."That's why we felt the need to tell this story," says artist Tamu. Ghantu in Gurung language means to sew a wound.
The film has a story by Bharat Rai and Suraj Tamu and a screenplay by Ker Koinch Linuch. Actor Anil Subba is acting director in the film. Yogesh Dahal has cinematography in the film.
