Kathmandu. It has been more than three decades since Swor Samrat Narayan Gopal Gurubacharya left his physical body. But his creativity has made him immortal for ages. He has introduced the nation to the era of music. From small children to old people, Swar Samrat Narayan Gopal is well known. As soon as they hear his name, their heads bow in reverence, and the Everest of music stands before them.
Swor Samrat Narayan Gopal was seen at the 53rd anniversary program of the Cultural Institute at the National Theatre under the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Government of Nepal. Dinesh Kafle (Howde Dai) and Khadga Bahadur Pun Magar were seen on stage at the program. The atmosphere changed. In honor of Narayan Gopal, who was also the General Manager of the Cultural Institute, artist Kafle presented a sharp satire on the anomalies within the institute. Dinesh Kafle has been widely discussed for making the activities of the institute a ruler who came to the gate of the former General Manager at the institute's program. It is natural that Kafle and Magar's performance has been widely discussed due to the recent distortions and inconsistencies seen in Nepali music, the multi-million-rupee debt the institution has been carrying for years, and the self-serving behavior of the political leadership.
Until now, no one had dared to caricature Narayan Gopal. Many who had been close to him would not have dared to present themselves in the form of a caricature. Even if they did, they were afraid of controversy or worried that it would hurt his self-esteem. But this time, the courage of artist Dinesh Kafle at the institute's annual festival is being widely praised.
Narayan Gopal's well-fitting glasses, gray coat, kerchief on his head, harmonium in his hand, the artist turned back to flex behind the caravan and wrote Swarasamrat. People were swaying in the same voice and the same getup. The event was held under the chief hospitality of the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey and the presence of Mr. Devendra Kumar Kafle, Member Secretary of Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Tika Pun, Professor of Nepal Music and Drama Academy, Dr. Narayan Prasad Regmi, Director General of Tourism Department under the Ministry, Indu Ghimire, Head of Tourism Branch, Hikmat Singh Air, Senior Director of Nepal Tourism Board, Deputy Secretaries of the Ministry, heads of various organizations and other guests. was there
