Kathmandu. 13 talents who have been in the field of song and music for a long time have been honored and rewarded by the Chinnalata Song Award Guthi yesterday with the 40th Chinnalata Song Award.

Born in 1980, Ramala Devi, who composed songs under the nickname Chinnalata, passed away in 2057. Guthi was established in the year 2039 on his own initiative.

It has been a tradition to reward the most deserving person among those who contributed to the field every year with the income of Guthi. But this time, Chinnalata song award Guthi has been awarded for three years which was stopped due to covid.

The General Assembly of Guthi announced Chinnalata song awards and honors for three years in years 2076, 2077 and 2078.

Under which the award was given to Jas Yonjan Pyasi for song composition in 2076, Anand  Adhikari in 2077, Basant Chaudhary in 2078.

In the same way, Hari Lamsal, Sunita Subba, Asmita Adhikari, Shanti Ram Rai, Shambhu Rai, Milan Newar, Anand Rai, Pabitra Subba, Eleena Chauhan were given the award for music and singing.

Similarly, senior musician Karma Yonjan was given a special honor in a special ceremony held on 26 June 2079.

Awarded musicians were honored with certificates of Rs 50,000 each and young talents Milan, Asmita and Eleena were honored with certificates of Rs 35,000 each.

On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of lyricist Ramola Devi Shah, Chinnalata song award was organized by Guthi under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Basudev Tripathi, president of Guthi, and former Prime Minister and CPN-UML President KP Oli was the chief guest.

Similarly, a special honor has been given to the composer Karma Yonjan in the Chinnalata special honor. There is 50,000 cash in this respect. The program was hosted by Naresh Bhattarai, a lyricist and journalist.

Before this, senior lyricist Kiran Kharel, singer Durga Kharel, singer Teerth Kumari Thapa, singer Pashupati Sharma, singer Sita KC, singer Devi Gharti, singer Prakash Saput, singer Shantisree Periyar and dozens of artists have received this award.
